today your love, tomorrow the world

A couple of weeks ago, writer and knower-of-stuff Benito Cereno asked people to put together an all-female Justice League consisting of seven members.
Here’s my team, based on the pre-New 52 nonsense:
Jesse Quick – Jesse Chambers is a speedster, a legacy hero, and the leader of this team. Jesse is an experienced hero who’s also really intelligent and I think that it’s her time to shine. Jesse also has ties to the Flash Family and the Justice Society, which gives potential for some fun stories.
Black Bat – Cassandra Cain is a former assassin, former Batgirl, and a current Agent of the Bat. Cassandra is one of the best fighters on the planet, and she’s also an excellent detective. She probably wouldn’t want to be on the team, but I bet that Batman and Oracle could convince her to join. And of course, she has ties to the Bat-Family and Batman Incorporated.
Infectious Lass – Drura Sehpt is a former member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, an alien from the 31st Century, and the most powerful member of this team. Drura can give anyone any disease, including infections which could even take down a Kryptonian. She was cast into the 21st Century a while back and ended up hanging out with Doctor 13’s team of misfits, and it’s time she got to do some serious heroing again. Drura also has ties to the Legion and that could lead to some time travel stories!
Steel – Natasha Irons is another legacy hero, and formerly had powers herself. But I want to put her back into her Steel armor for this team. Natasha is our tech hero here, and she has some interesting superhero experience to draw upon. Natasha could use her uncle John Henry Irons for science support for the team, and of course she has ties to the Super-Family.
Elasti-Girl – Rita Farr is a former actress and current hero, who once died in the line of duty. The only team Rita has ever been a part of is the Doom Patrol, and I’m interested to see how she’ll do away from her “family”. Also, it’s always cool to have a member of the team who can grow to a giant-size. Rita, of course, has ties to the Doom Patrol and all of their kooky members and villains.
Traci 13 – Traci Thirteen is a powerful sorceress who has never joined a superteam before, so this will be quite an experience for her. Traci already knows Infectious Lass and Steel from previous adventures, and I think that this is a team she could (eventually) be comfortable with. Traci has ties to Doctor 13 and his group of misfits, the Super-Family, and Blue Beetle.
Thunder & Grace Choi – Yeah, this makes eight members, but I had to have them both! Anissa Pierce has cool density-altering powers, is another legacy hero, and she’s a trained surgeon! Grace is an Amazon and will be our team muscle. Also, these two are our resident team couple. They have ties to the Outsiders, Black Lightning, the JSA, and the Amazons.
Well, what do you think, Benito?
